New Season taster from Penfield

Hands up if you have been waiting with baited breath ever since the temperature dropped for Penfield to deliver their new season goods into stores?? Yes, well so have we and we got more then ever so slightly excited when Dave from UPS came through the door with a couple of boxes from non other then one of our favourite outerwear specialists, Penfield USA. Our excitement turned to disappointment when we realised it was their shirts, hats, bags and no sign of the jackets but then we were soon back on cloud nine as we have found that whatever Penfield produce, it is pretty much consistently jostling for the position of best in category whether in the outerwear department or not. We have been busy getting all of that up online for your enjoyment but then all of a sudden, as we type, happy days!! To really top the week off, we have just received the balance of our new season Penfield outerwear into both stores and to say they are the best jackets we have ever seen from Penfield would be no exageration. These will be up online next week and you will see exactly what we are talking about but in the meantime, if you want to get your hands on one of these before anyone else, get on down to Number Six Dray Walk or Number Six Hampstead and we guarantee you won't be disappointed. Also, getting us all hot under the collar this week has been the arrival of our very exclusive and specially made to order Seil Marschall climbing boot in Juchten Leather. Not available anywhere on the planet other then here at Number Six, we are well chuffed with how these have turned out. We chose to use Juchten Leather (a fine cows leather that is tanned with willow bark and then soaked in birch oil to render it completely waterproof it was widely used by the Russian military throughout the 19th and 20th century in the production of boots for their cavalry and infantry soldiers) as after to chatting in depth to Thomas from Seil Marschall we liked the history of it and for us, that makes these boots all that little bit more unique. Completely functional and just as at home on a cliff face as well as looking amazing pounding the pavements of your neighbourhood these are the best climbing boots we have seen from anyone on the market to date. Finally, as we find ourselves smartening up in our old age, we were particularly pleased to take delivery of these amazing yet subtle club ties from the undisputed king of all things preppy, Mr Ralph Lauren. Perfect for all occassions where a neck tie is required and even for those instances where they are not required, but you fancy wearing one anyway. The ideal accompanient to these very dapper jackets from Number Six new comers Universal Works and NN07. Very nice indeed. Right, next week, Penfield Outerwear, Levis Vintage and some very special shirts from Polo Ralph Lauren. Until then, have a great weekend Au revoir www.numbersixlondon.com
