The Number Six Guide, To The Number One Summer Accessory.
It wouldn't be Summer without a cracking pair of
sunglasses perched on your nose. They are a necessity for getting the most enjoyment out of the sun, whilst looking damn cool. Squinting away whilst you sip on your favourite bevy has never been a good look! As rare as it may be here in London, we like to be prepared for when the weather heats up. It's time for lightweight layers, chinos, sandals, caps & of course, sunglasses. Finding the perfect pair of sunnies might seem like searching for the holy grail, but follow our advice and you'll be well on your way. For SS17 we've got the classics from
Ray-Ban &
Oakley, as well as some contemporary head turners from
Sun Buddies &
Persol. If you have any questions, never hesitate to
contact us, we love helping out in the style department!
Find The Right Shape, The Right Lens & The Right Material For You.
Of course, as with any garment or accessory, there are endless styles and designs to choose from. The importance of buying sunglasses that naturally suit you is a must. You may be infatuated with a Wayfarer, but sadly, it might just not be right for your face. As an initial and general guide, squares frames will compliment a 'round' face and vice versa. Ideally, take the time to come in-store and try a few pairs on, get a feel for the lenses and materials and see what truly works best for you. Consider sunglasses as an investment, find the right pair once and you'll be set for years.
As for lenses, this is more of a personal preference. Black lenses are of course the darkest tint, but this doesn't necessarily mean they will offer the most UV protection. Great for hiding your eyes (and hangover?) whilst looking suave and alluring. Then you've got brown, ideal for emphasizing and warming up daily hues and tones. These are classic and work perfectly on a nice tortoise shell frame or skinny gold arms. Green/grey lens colouring is another popular option, I find these provide the most enhancing 'natural' vision. They block out a lot of harsh blue light without distorting colours, leaving you with a crisp and appealing view. Of course, this is merely a brief guide to sunnies from our team at Number Six. You should always experiment and figure out what works for you! Shop all sunglasses in-store and online now. Currently 20% off for a limited time only!
